Integrated and Non-Integrated LED Lighting Fixtures

As the time goes, LED lighting is becoming more popular and it’s taking over other lighting technology. Using the latest technology oriented lighting fixture has its own advantages as you don’t need to change the lighting fixtures at regular intervals. LED’s have so many features and advantages that consumers are choosing them over not only Just Incandescents but also CFLs and Halogen lamps. It’s considered that by 2022, above 80% of lighting products used by people will be LED. With the affordable prices of LEDs and reduction in the manufacturing of the soon to be abolished incandescent light bulbs, it’s clear that LEDs is the base of future lighting.

The most important thing is to know what is best for you, LED integrated lighting fixtures or non-integrated ones?

So what’s the difference between these two?

LED integrated fixtures have built in arrays. These are developed using the diodes which are designed with a specific color temperature (in Kalvin) and Lumen output. These fixtures often have comparatively high upfront cost and long life span and efficiency than an integrated LED lamps. They often can be termed as an all-in-one system.

Today, people are more biased towards lighting fixtures where they can replace the lamp. These types of fixtures are called non-integrated luminaires as anyone can replace the lamp after they burn out. These are designed for use with LED bulbs and allow you to use any kind of LED bulb which has the right size and wattage. This way the luminaire remains functional for a long time. The non-integrated LED lighting solution is perfectly suited for certain applications and some users like building managers, contractors, and electricians. It promises energy efficiency and longer life span when compared to fluorescent lighting.

Which one do you need?

There are a few things which need to be considered before deciding which fixture good for you. If your current fixtures need to be repaired then after combining the repairing cost with the cost of LED lamps, an LED integrated one would be a wise choice.

When compared, The non-integrated products often lack in maintaining the lighting quality standard. The Integrated LED fixtures maintain the quality-lighting much more effectively and are best for retail stores, hospitality and offices.

The non-integrated luminaires are more preferred at present. But you can’t ignore the fact that the integrated luminaires in the coming years, will be covering a larger market size. It’s because using them have more benefits and energy savings in the long run. In European countries, The shipment of these luminaires is more than 50% and it’s is gradually increasing. The consumer who installs LED integrated luminaires, will have the advantage of better quality energy-efficient lighting with better connectivity controls.

Both kinds of fixtures have slightly different features yet the combined advantages are same. Choose either of luminaires that suits you. Remember the ultimate goal is to use the energy-efficient lighting that is the latest technology oriented and provide the high-quality illumination.
